Gallery No 4 - The Past & Now Present "Again" Works Vehicle!!

A strange title to this album perhaps (Past & Present). The reason for this is that it was bought in March 2005 as the works van but semi retired in late November 2009 when the Freelander came home. The Freelander was bought to preserve the MG for shows, Sunny days etc as the MG is so rare however the Freelander was sold in very late November 2011 & no replacement has been sourced yet so the MG - Express is back in general use once again.

This van is a 2005 MG ZR-Express that is If you can really call this a van as it looks more like a car (CDV) which is kind of what I wanted as I am not a fan of general commercial vehicles as anyone can just get a plain old white van so therefore wanted something with the practicalities of a van but the specification & appearance of a car!!

I chose the MG mainly as if you hadn't guessed by looking at my other cars that I am a lifelong fan of MG & Rover products etc so wanted a product of theirs. One thing that MG-Rover were hopeless at was marketing their own products so I thought that when I ordered this CDV back in January 2005 I would help them by adding pretty much "Total" spec to what was otherwise the base model which would then be evident for all to see when I was out valeting customers cars, some of which would be businesses customers & may at some point be wanting to buy a small van & no other manufacturer made (& still doesn't) a CDV that is as sporty as a hatchback in their range!

A reason for choosing this vehicle was that it was the cheapest enginewise & I simply wanted something that was different & stood out from the rest which this vehicle does very well indeed. I have often had comments about it & in particular the colour which many think is an aftermarket paint job. It however is a factory colour.
I took the base 105 model (1400cc petrol) & simply added virtually every accessory available! A 2.0 Diesel & 1.8VVC petrol version were also available.
