1985 MG Metro 1300 Mk2.
My little MG Metro in the showroom at Executive Motoring Services. The large red bonnet in the front of the picture is that of a rare MG SV-R 5.0 V8 supercar which is owned by my business partner (In EMS). The car the otherside is my ZT-Tourer.
Below is an email that I recieved from the seller when i enquired about buying it!
The car was bought new by a university professor in Stockport - I still have the bill. He was fastidious and kept a card index of every bit of work done on the car while he owned it. It was garaged from new and not allowed to get wet - full stop. He undersealed and waxoyled it every year and it had oil changes every 2000 miles or so. In fact, it actually uses zero oil - the first time I have ever seen this on an A series. I have all the MoTs.
I bought it from him three years ago and apart from a trip to the MG events at Silverstone and the MMM event near Coventry it has only bene used locally. Over the last year it only covered about a 100 miles. It is stored in my garage in the house on for axle stands and under a cover.
I really haven't had to do anything to it - I repainted the sills, not because they were rusty, but the original Austin Rover paint had sags and runs! I have also serviced it - the grease points have been done regularly and the waxoyling continued.
I can honestly say you won't find another like it. It is currently SORN and the MoT has expired, but I am happy to put 12 months MoT on it - the local garage think it is amazing and always get everyone to take a look undereneath.
